Module H7131

Module details for 2023/24.

15 credits

FHEQ Level 4

Module Outline

In this hands-on module, you will learn the basics techniques of descriptive geometry, the rules and standards of technical drawing and basic computer-aided design.
The module has two, closely related parts; one in which you will learn how to produce technical drawings by hand, understanding at the same time the rules and conventions used internationally in technical product documentation and specification. This will enable you to read technical drawings with confidence and communicate efficiently with product development and manufacturing departments. In the second part of the module, you will learn the basics of software packages used for technical drawing, helping you to progress to year two of your course. The teaching will be laboratory-based only.
